BROOKVILLE — Kicking off the season on the right foot on the turf at Brookville, the Clearfield Lady Bison soccer team rolled to a 6-0 shutout win over the hosts Friday afternoon.
After missing last season with a knee injury, Lady Bison senior Mia Smith returned to the pitch and scored four of Clearfield’s goals, two of them in each half with the fourth completing the game’s scoring on a penalty kick with 5:39 remaining in regulation.
Also finding the net for Clearfield was Evie Helsel and Khloe Lanich with Lily McBride assisting on Helsel’s goal to start the game’s scoring just over eight minutes into the contest.
Smith’s first two goals at the 32:19 and 22:40 marks of the first half made it 3-0 at intermission.
Clearfield hosts Penns Valley Monday at 6 p.m. Brookville visits Forest Area in Tionesta on Wednesday.
