2019 - 2nd Regular season game with Bellefonte cancelled.

Prior to and including the 2010 season the Lady Bison played in the "d9 League", competing mostly with teams in the d9 foot-
print; Bradford, Brookville, Curwensville, Du Bois, Du Bois Catholic, Elk County Catholic, Saint Marys, Punxsutawney and the
like and facing  Punxsutawney or Saint Marys when doing well enough to make it to the post-season. In that era other regular
foes were such as Non-League Altoona, Hollidaysburg, Johnsonburg, Ridgway, Sheffield, State College and Williamsport.

Evolution of the Mountain League ~
In 2011 we played each of the other five
teams in our divison twice (10 games),
each of the six teams in the Nittany
division once (6 more) , once each with
Non-League Bradford, Brookville,
Hollidayburg and Punxsutawney for a
total of 20 regular season games.

A scheduling anomaly due to rainouts
earlier in the season saw the Lady Bison
play two games on April 25th; 2:00 at Lewistown and 4:30 at Indian Valley.

2013 - Present, 8 Teams, 1 Division ~

2013, Central Mountain and Juniata exit and
the current 8-team Mountain League was
formed. Since then we have played each of
the 7 other League teams twice for 14 games
with the remaining games played with non-
league teams. In 2019 our non-league oppon-
ents were: Altoona,
Bradford, Curwensville,
Glendale, Hollidaysburg & Punxsutawney.

Because we are geographically located in the
PIAA's District 9 we still compete against d9
teams (Brookville & Karns City) post-season.
2012, Indian Valley & Lewistown merged as
"Mifflin County H.S." and left the League.
That year we  played the four other teams in
our division plus Central Mountain each twice,
and once each with the four other Nittany
Teams -14 games. Another six were scheduled
with Altoona, Bradford, Brookville,
Hollidaysburg, Mifflin County and
Punxsutawney once each, still playing 20
regular-season games

Going forward from this era most teams at C.H.S. joined the Mountain League. In the 2011 season the Mountain League consisted
of 12 teams in two divisions, in 2012 ten teams in two divisions, and since 2013, eight teams in one division.

See "Evolution" below for details of the Mountain League ~

Before 2019 the Lady Bison were classified AAAA by the PIAA, competing in d9 with Bradford, Punxs'y & St. Marys. In 2019 the
team was reclassified as AAA with Brookville & Karns City; AAAA is now populated by Bradford, Punxs'y & St. Marys. Du Bois is
the sole occupant of d9-AAAAA.

I would suggest that the current schedule, with the Lady Bison playing Mountain League powerhouses (and former State Champs)
Bald Eagle (
1-18), Bellefonte (3-17), Philipsburg (0-19) and Penns Valley (6-11) plus Central High (3-15) , all twice, and also facing
d9's Punxsutawney (
5-20) is a much tougher schedule than in the days when we were up against Brockway (3-1), Brookville (14-2),
Elk County Catholic (
3-0), Johnsonburg (3-0), Ridgway (3-0), St. Marys (10-2), Sheffield (3-0) and the like.

* Mountain League Teams ~ Bald Eagle Area, Bellefonte, Central, Clearfield,
                 Huntingdon, Penns Valley, Philipsburg-Osceola, Tyrone.
As mentioned above, in 2011 with the original makeup of the ML the girls played 16 league games and that season posted what was until
this year their highest league W/L % of .438 . Playing 16 games that year they also scored their most league wins (7) of any season so far.
Every season since they have been scheduled to play 14 league games, missing one in '19 with the second Bellefonte game being rained-out
and not rescheduled and for some reason
meeting Philipsburg only once in 2013, playing only 13 that year too.
